Things to Do

Visiting DC and looking for something to do?
Here's my list of favorites things to do in the DMV:

- Watch a MLB baseball game at Nationals Park.

The Washington National baseball games are always a lot of fun and incredibly inexpensive. Usually, you can get  tickets on StubHub for under $10/person for most games and most games has specials such as $1 hot dog nights. On Sundays, they have Signature Sundays were select players are available for autographs before the game. It’s a family fun atmosphere offering fun games for the kids.

Nationals Park offers great food consessions such as Shake Shack, Ben’s Chili Bowl and your regular ball park fare. The prices are inflated like most stadiums, but they do allow you to bring 1 sealed bottle of water per person, snacks and sandwiches (ie. Subway, Jimmy Johns) I usually go that route and opt to purchase ice cream or a frozen lemonade during the summer time.

The stadium’s metro accessible via the Green Line Navy-Yard stop. There’s also parking available at the stadium ranging from $10-$30 depending on how close to the stadium you’d like to park.

For everything else you'd like to know about Nationals Park, check out the A-Z Guide.

Tips:
- Beers before 1st pitch by the 2nd floor Miller Lite Scoreboard are $5. Once the game begins, the beers go up to $9.50
- Buy the tickets on StubHub the day of the game and they’re generally significantly discounted from Box Office Prices
- If your seats are in the upper deck, 1st base side, you’ll be able to see views of the Capital Building and Washington Monument from your seats.

- Walk the National Mall and enjoy the FREE museums and monuments.

The best time to come is during the Cherry Blossom season in April and September when the heat begins to cool off. During the summer, walking in 90 degree heating isn't the most pleasant experience.

Getting around can be a little bit of a challenge, but I would recommend taking the metro to most locations. It avoids having to try and find parking which can also be expensive.

Here’s a list of sites located close to the National Mall:
-          Washington Monument
-          Capital Building
-          National Air and Space Museum
-          US Museum of National History
-          Holocaust Museum
-          National Archives Museum
-          Lincoln Memorial
-          MLK Memorial
-          Art History Museum
-          Smithsonian Institute
-          World War II Memorial
-          FDR Memorial
-          Jefferson Memorial

- Eat DC at Food Festivals and Special Events

If there’s one thing DC definitely has, it’s food festivals/events.

There’s usually something going on and here’s a list of some I've attended:
